How JPD Foundation works
JPD Foundation has run the Festival del Boulevard cultural event since 2003 and has supported local arts organizations and artists as well as a range of civic organizations. The Festival, a multi-ethnic event that takes place every June on Juan Pablo Duarte Boulevard (St. Nicholas Avenue) between 181st and 187th, attracts 5000-7000 people, primarily families with children.
JPD Foundation support local programs, like The Uptown Games, the All Purpose Room and the Street Vendors Association. Other activities include social initiatives and donations for institutions like orphanages located in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
JPD has been allocated a 1,515 square foot space at the new George Washington Bridge Port Authority terminal to be used for community purposes. The JPD Community Space is rent-free until 2027, but JPD Foundation is responsible for all other expenses. In collaboration with a broad range of formal and informal community organizations, JPD Foundation will utilize the space for multiple services and programs.
